Tasmanian based telecommunication company's satellite internet service

 approved under  Networking Tasmania II

15 January 2008

Broadband Wireless Pty Ltd trading as BBW Telecom (BBW) is now offering satellite internet services to government agencies and businesses in Tasmania.  The satellite services are available Statewide and offer download speeds of up to 2 Mb and upload of speeds of 512K and even faster speeds are available upon request.

A wide range of State, local, Commonwealth and not-for-profit entities are eligible to purchase the new satellite services under the Networking Tasmania II Agreement signed between BBW Telecom and the State Government earlier this year.

BBW Telecom Managing Director Paul Truscott said that 'Once again BBW Telecom is providing innovative communication solutions to Tasmanian government and non-profit customers throughout the State.'

'The service will be especially suitable where government agencies are otherwise unable to gain a reasonable level of broadband service because of their challenging location' Mr Tuscott said.

BBW Telecom already offers a range of wireless and fixed connection services, as well as Internet services, under the Networking Tasmania II Agreement.
