Off Site Backup is a new product from BBW Telecom enabling customers to have a fully off site, secure and redundant backup.
No longer will you have the hassle of changing backup tapes (or forgetting to do so!), burning CDs, copying files to thumb drives, or external hard drives. With Off Site Backup the data is stored away from your building, so a fire wall not kill both the main machine and the backup stored there as well. It can be done hands free with a regular scheduled backup happening even when you aren't there!
System features include:
- All communications to the backup server are encrypted;
- All data stored on the backup server is encrypted with a user-selected encryption key;
- Recovery CD's can be made for customers (encrypted);
- Recovery can be made via internet download (encrypted);
- High efficiency data compression
- Automated warnings when quota is approaching full.

- Quality Compaq multi-processor server hardware
- Both operating system and backup data are stored on separate SCSI RAID-5 Hard Drive arrays
- Connected to a dedicated router port and firewall
- 100Mb/s connections to the BBW Telecom network, and direct connectivity to the Telstra, Agile networks as well as peering links via the PIPE peering exchange
- 4Mb/s to the rest of the Internet
